What schools are invited to participate?

Secondary schools that recruit international students are invited to participate. Participating schools will be coming from all parts of the world.

What kind of schools agents will be looking for?

Track record of high academic achievements, pathways to quality universities, good ESL support and pastoral care are important for agents.

Majority of Asian students are long-term students; they plan to study at school until they graduate.

Some agents will also be looking for schools that organise summer camps.

Why is this event focused on the Asia Pacific region?

Asia Pacific region is a major source of international secondary school students in schools all over the world. More than 2/3 of all international students on secondary level come from Asia Pacific region. Recently numbers of international secondary students from Vietnam, Thailand, India and Indonesia studying abroad have been growing fast.

How are agents selected?

We carefully check references of applying agents. Approved agents have experience placing students in secondary schools abroad.

Majority of participating agents are well-established agents actively working with schools sector. We also invite a small number of agents from emerging markets that are willing to start working with the sector and currently have experience working with other educational institutions.

Agents from what countries will be represented?

Majority of participating agents come from Thailand. We also have agents coming from Vietnam, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Vietnam, South Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Nepal, Kazakhstan.

How does it work?

Visa
Citizens of the majority of countries involved in School Focus Asia Workshop can either enter Thailand for a short stay without a visa.
In case you do require a visa we recommend you to apply for a tourist visa. A standard single-entry tourist visitor visa is usually easy to obtain and valid for a duration of 30 days from the date of entry.

Online appointments
4 weeks before the event you will get online access to the information about all the registered agents. You will be able to arrange appointments with them via our online system. It is advisable to have the majority of appointments scheduled prior to the event.

Participation includes:

  • A meeting table and 4 chairs.
  • A power socket.
  • All the meals indicated (see the timetable) for 1 representative of your school. The second representative can attend at a delegate fee rate of $AUD 250 / $USD 200 / $CAD 250 / £GBP 150 / €EUR 170
  • Use of online appointment system.
  • Information about your school in the Workshop Catalogue. All the participants shall receive a copy.
  • A copy of the Workshop Catalogue with all agents' contact details.

At the spots with a display area behind you can place independently standing banner behind your table. At standard spots, nothing can be placed behind your table not to block the view of the room.
